Scary thought for the day:
Some agents for TransCanada led landowners to believe if they didn’t sign the initial proposal or the initial easement contracts that eminent domain would be used and they might not be compensated at all.
The Nebraska Easement Action Team says it is not true and are asking Unicameral to rescind TransCanada’s power to seize land.
Land owners wonder why a foreign corporation would even be allowed to use eminent domain “strictly for their own profit?”
Landowners are calling for an investigation into TransCanada’s tactics.
